Quiet Auction:
Our intent of going to a Quiet Auction is to provide a low stress
environment for our customers to have an equal opportunity to purchase
British White Cattle. What is a Quiet Auction? A Quiet Auction is a sale
without an auctioneer’s chant. Our Sale Referee, will
accept bids and will have the last word on whose bid is the final bid. A
minimum price will be set for each animal to be sold and the referee
will call out the bid in increments of $50 until the animal is sold. The
animals will be sold from their pens rather than in an auction ring.
Quiet Auction Procedures:
The minimum price for each animal will be posted at the pen along
with his or her tag number. A sign up card for each animal will be used
for customers to designate which animals they have an
interest in buying.
Signing on the card represents the buyer's interest, but not obligation,
to purchase the animal.
The first person to sign the card has the opportunity to buy the animal
for the base price. Sale order (beginning with heifers) will
be determined by the animal with the most buyers expressing interest in
the animal. Between the selling of each animal there will be a brief
opportunity for any buyer to sign up for another animal. Sale Referee,
Norm Andrews, will settle all questions and disputes.
Absentee Buyers:
Buyers unable to attend the sale but who would
still like to be able to bid on a certain animal may place bids with any representative of Bohaty Farms. Purchases must be paid for within ten (10) days of the
sale or before the animals leave the premises, whichever occurs first.
We can help you find transportation for your animals.
